Welcome to The Woodlands Tavern

The Woodlands Tavern is a charming country pub with dining situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Llanvair Discoed, Monmouthshire, South Wales.

Originally known as the Kings Arms, the Woodlands Tavern is a piece of local history in itself, however it is also very close to the Roman fortress town of Caerwent and set at the foot of Gray Hill, Wentwood forest and reservoir, an area known for its historical interest and outstanding natural beauty, ideal for fishing, walking and cycling.

We welcome walkers and cyclists plus there is always a warm, friendly welcome for our four legged friends (along with their well behaved owners) in the bar with a dog treat or two.
